whistle for willie

so i know some bloggers do "outfit to room" posts,

(anne kills it over at the city sage)
or "art to outfit" posts,
(this one from jen at jenloveskev guest posting for lulu's)

design*sponge even does this incredibly cool "living in" thing...
i think they're super cool.

super cool, right?!

for the longest time i've had the idea of doing something similar, and i'm going to give it a shot.

hear me out.

after having children, i found myself straddling two worlds.
cribs and couture. diapers and diamonds. pacifiers and picasso.

you get the idea.

i'm interested and inspired by both, so naturally, this little project will include the same.

up first:

inspired by ezra jack keats'
whistle for willie

(if you don't have this book for your kids... go get it.
all of keats' books are gorgeously vivid, classic yet modern, sweet and simple without being boring, and suitable for the very young to older kids.

Anyway, here's what went exploding in my mind when i was reading it to birdie the other night...
